Romanos Rizk, American Artist
Fragments 16"x20" Mixed-media Collage
$2500 Framed
ROMANOS RIZK is one of the most prominent of Provincetown's living artists and has, for years, enjoyed an international reputation and the accolades of museums and corporate collectors for his striking, large abstract canvases inspired by the Zen philosophy "One With The Tao". Born of Lebanese parents in Providence, R.I., Rizk moved to Provincetown over forty years ago and set out to establish his own unique style of Abstraction. His success and special place within that genre is attested to by numerous museum invitationals and acquisitions. Trained as a classical painter, Rizk first came to Priovincetown to study with Henry Hensche whose Cape School of Impressionism attracted artists from all over the world. Rizk has returned to those roots in his latest series "Lilly Ponds," depicting various Cape ponds, resplendent with waterlillies in styles that merge the finest of Monet's techniques with the sensibilities of the Orient. The results are breathtaking in their beauty. |
